St. Mary's - Ananda Sastralaya big match ends in a draw

The 49th Annual Cricket Encounter between St. Mary's College and Ananda Sastralaya ended in a draw on March 24 at Matugama Esplanade.

Ananda won the toss and decided to bat. wickets fell regularly while Ananda team managed to establish the highest partnership of 49 runs for the last wicket in its total of 190.

Kasun Samera of St. Mary's College took five wickets for 66 in 28 overs.Thisaru Priyalalitha took two wickets for 39. Naveen Nalaka and Udara Madhusanka took one wicket each.

St. Mary's declared the first inning at 163 for eight. Kasun Sameera scored 90. He scored 68 for the first wicket with captain Malan Dissanayaka who scored 23.

T.R. Ambawatta of Ananda Sastralaya took five wickets for 11 runs. R.P. Adhikaram two for 41.

Ananda Sastralaya scored 161 for seven wickets in the second inning.

For St. Mary's Kasun Sameera again struck with ball and grabbed six wickets for 78 in 27overs. Thisaru Priyalalitha took the other wicket.

St. Mary's followed and scored 69 for two wickets in 25 overs.

R.P. Adikaram took the two wickets for 15 runs.
