The 49th Annual Cricket Encounter between St. Mary's College and Ananda Sastralaya ended in a draw on March 24 at Matugama Esplanade.
Ananda won the toss and decided to bat. wickets fell regularly while Ananda team managed to establish the highest partnership of 49 runs for the last wicket in its total of 190.
Kasun Samera of St. Mary's College took five wickets for 66 in 28 overs.Thisaru Priyalalitha took two wickets for 39. Naveen Nalaka and Udara Madhusanka took one wicket each.
St. Mary's declared the first inning at 163 for eight. Kasun Sameera scored 90. He scored 68 for the first wicket with captain Malan Dissanayaka who scored 23.
T.R. Ambawatta of Ananda Sastralaya took five wickets for 11 runs. R.P. Adhikaram two for 41.
Ananda Sastralaya scored 161 for seven wickets in the second inning.
For St. Mary's Kasun Sameera again struck with ball and grabbed six wickets for 78 in 27overs. Thisaru Priyalalitha took the other wicket.
St. Mary's followed and scored 69 for two wickets in 25 overs.
R.P. Adikaram took the two wickets for 15 runs.

St. Mary's College under 13 cricket team to play with Kekirawa in Division iii quarter final
Under 13 cricket team of St. Mary's College, Matugama has qualified for the quarter final of the Division iii cricket tournament organized by the School Cricket Association.
St. Mary's college will play with Kekirawa Central College at Kekirawa on March 23.
St. Mary's College is captained by Shanuka Udayanga.
The team is unbeaten in the tournament.

49th Annual Cricket Encounter between St. Mary's College, Matugama and Ananda Sastralaya, Matugama will be held on March 23 and 24 at Matugama Public Esplanade.
St. Mary's College is captained by Malan Disanayaka, a second year player. He is right handed batsman who opens batting. A brilliant fielder who can field at any place.
Naveen Nalaka, a second year player, right arm pace bowler and middle order batsman is the vice captain.
St. Mary's College comprises of Thisaru Priyalalitha, last year's captain who has scored over 350 runs this year in six matches.
Kasun Sameera who played for the Kaluthara district team also is another asset that St. Mary's cricket team has kept hopes.
Ananda Sastralaya is captained by Pasindu Maduwantha Silva, a fourth year player. He is an all-rounder who bats right hand and bowls right arm.
Ananda Sastralaya vice captain Ruchira Prabhath Adikaram is a brilliant spinner who has bagged 40 wickets in five matches he played. He is also a fourth year player.
